Alienated
Alienated is a cutesy pixel puzzle game about a small alien trying to fit into an ancient society that doesn’t quite understand them. You play as the alien, navigating daily interactions while slowly learning how this culture communicates.
The society speaks through an esoteric symbolic language. Because words fail, you communicate using emotional masks. As you progress, the alien begins to understand not just the language, but what it means to belong.
Symbols either have a value or an action tied to them. They interact with each other to form the emotional tone of a sentence, and are read from left to right. Placement matters! Changing the order of symbols can drastically change how a message is understood. (If you get stuck, there is a symbol cheat sheet below).
How it works:
1. NPCs communicate using symbolic language and visual cues.
2. You solve puzzles by choosing and wearing emotional masks to respond.
3. Some masks help you connect, while others create distance or misunderstanding.
4. As the game progresses, social situations become more complex and emotionally loaded.
- All Areas are selectable, but we recommend starting at the Market. That is the starting area that teaches you the foundations.

Cute puzzle game! Beautiful artwork and music, and I especially loved the little green guy, very cute! The concept of esoteric sign language was pretty cool, though I’ll admit that I am really bad at puzzle games so I had to finish the whole thing with the help of the guide. I struggled a bit with the commutative and associative logic of the signs, especially with how nullification and copying worked. Like when “copy previous” occurred at the very beginning of the sequence or when multiple “nullification” and “copy” adjacent were placed together, so I was not sure if I was supposed to nullify the copy or copy the nullify ha ha. Regardless quite an interesting experience cerebrally. I did face a bug which didn’t let me see the ending scene, which I believe is some web build specific issue (will forward the error logs on discord). The other thing was that the default web view only showed a cropped version of the game viewport, so I think resolution scaling or resizing wasn’t enabled perhaps. That being said though, amazing work, especially since I heard you guys did it in only two days. Well done and you have my very best wishes! 💖
